meetings postponed

Well, I had hopes to start my own group here in the town where I live, and my printer quit on me. I haven't been posting here, but rather on the small site I put up. I still need to add this to the updates over there. *sigh*

I want to get the rulebook and any relevant papers (liability waivers, etc.) printed out before I start.
It's been a while since I've taken part in any amtgarding activities, and I don't want to run things without the handbook, then have to tell people to change things later when I do get the thing printed.
I should have downloaded and printed them when my printer was still working in January, but I just didn't have the time. Darn it.

Also, before starting any group, I would like to try to get ahold of the local city hall (which is coincidentally also the police station. LOL) to make sure it's okay to have meetings in the local park. It's a very small town, and the last thing I want is to go and do something stupid. Cause everyone in town would know about it if I did. Yeah, it's that small of a town.
Unfortunately, the people at the sity building are hardly ever there, making it hard to call when someone's actually there.
I posted on my site that I was going to try to start meetings this week, which is why I'm posting here now. To say I'm not.
I'll keep posting updates, though. I'm not sure how long it'sa going to take to get all these problems worked out.

more later.

First Post

I just thought I'd post real quick and say a little bit about myself.
I'm 26 almost 27, and I've been in amtgard since I was 16 or 17 (around 1998/1999). I first started out in amtgard as part of the shire of the iron dragon clan, now a barony. That was way back when I was around 16 or 17.
Then, around 2003/2004 (I think) I discovered the shire of Griffin's Ridge in Huber Heights, Ohio. I rp'ed with their group for about 6 months or so, too. We went to midreign (I'm not sure what year it was, but King Logan had been appointed. The first campout I went to was with IDC, though, and that was a coronation. The bridge-battles were awesome! (bridge wars). Anyway, Griffin's ridge stopped meeting at the park in huber heights because of construction on the nearby bridge, then cold weather arrived.
My husband and I had gotten an apartment in north dayton (riverside), and we started out own group with some friends. We unfortunately never got to record anything, but we would meet anywhere from once a week to twice a week, sometimes more than that. We'd run around the yard with foambats pummeling each other, shouting insults and war cries. Thank goodness we were friends with our neighbors in the little four-apartment strip. LOL. Not to mention the guy at the house next door and the people across the street. Heh.

Anyway, My husband and I moved since then, around 2005 or so, and I sold my car, along with losing my job, so I basically don't have transportation or income to buy one. I haven't found any groups near me, so I was hoping to start my own little chapter up here in the smalltown area of Piqua, Troy, Bradford, West Milton, and Pleasant Hill Ohio. Anyone interested? there's a small public park here in town.
